We are pleased to inform our esteemed members that the cooperation agreement between the Iranian Association of Medical Physicists (IAMP) and the National Radiation Protection Department has been officially renewed.
This agreement aims to accredit qualified medical physicists in radiation therapy centers, in alignment with the legal requirements that mandate the presence of a certified physicist for authorization to operate with ionizing radiation. Under this agreement, professional competency assessments conducted by IAMP, as a recognized professional authority, will be acknowledged by the relevant regulatory body.
In the updated version of the agreement, a strong emphasis has been placed on education-oriented approaches, with the goals of enhancing the knowledge and skills of radiation therapy physicists, improving patient radiation safety, minimizing errors and radiation-related incidents, and strengthening professional efficiency.
It is important to note that the exam-based evaluation will be conducted only once, at the end of 1404 (20 March, 2026).
The Iranian Association of Medical Physicists remains committed to advancing the professional standing of its members, supporting the development of specialized expertise, and ensuring the quality of radiation therapy services across the country.
